To welcome spring, UCH Music Club opens its arms to the wealth of choral and orchestral riches found in the Baltic States- a testament to nationhood, faith and community. With music of Arvo Pärt , Tõnu Kõrvits, Jaakko Mäntyjärvi, Uģis Prauliņš, Sibelius & more.
13th March – B-Side Composers
Always the bridesmaid... Music Club pays homage to composers whose genius was overshadowed by that of more dazzling colleagues. Featuring W.F. Bach, M.A. Charpentier, F. Mendelssohn, Wolf, Leoncavallo, Svendsen and Bridge.
20th March – Music in Ireland
In honour of St. Patrick's week, Music Club dips into the rich and rare gems of Irish classical music- from the genius of Carolan to modern masters.
27th March – One-Hit Wonders
For a UCH Music Club finale, we toast those composers blessed- and cursed- by one defining masterwork. With contenders including Dukas, Bruch, Mascagni, Allegri, Biber, Enescu, Pachelbel and Barber.
